United Airlines is a Maryland based international company devoted to air travel and air transport, headquartered in Baltimore City, New Republic of Maryland. Founded in April 26, 1926 by Walter T. Varney in Boise, Idaho, America as a mail transporting company. In 1927, airplane pioneer William Boeing founded his own airline, Boeing Air Transport to operate the San Francisco to Chicago air mail route, while he began buying other mail carriers such as Varney Air Lines. In 1929, Boeing merged his company with Pratt & Whitney to form the United Aircraft and Transport Corporation (UATC). Today, United Airlines is proudly serving the Republic of Washington as the flag carrier of Washington.
