==History-==

The history of the German Republic begins with the history of it's capital, Hamburg. Hamburg begins with its foundation in the 9th century as a mission settlement to convert the Saxons. Since the Middle Ages Hamburg was an important trading centre in Europe. The convenient location of the port and its independence as a city and state for centuries strengthened this position. The city was member in the medieval Hanseatic trading league and a free imperial city of the Holy Roman Empire. From 1815 until 1866 Hamburg was an independent and sovereign state of the German Confederation, then the North German Confederation, the Austrian-German Empire. and during the period of the First Republic. After being defeated by the combined forces of Britain, France, and Poland during The Great War, Austria-Germany was left a crippled state. Food shortages, famine, and an enormous war debt. This, combined with the economic depression of the 1930s, gave rise to Adolf Hitler's Nazi regime in 1933. However, political friction with the new regime came to a head in 1938 as numerous ethnically and economically divided factions refused to be subjugated by the Fascist policies of the Nazi Party.

Germany had split into 3 states, Austria, Bricc, and Nazi Germany. How ever, an uprising in western Nazi Germany gave rise to the First Republic of Germany. Hitler commanded an invasion on the small, weak and underdeveloped state. The soldiers captured Hamburg, and ravaged all the way to the Swiss border. The Nazis used it as a base against French and Bricc resistance. Civilians from Hamburg using Nordic weapons started a rebellion, and liberated the northern area from the Nazis. Furious, Hitler commanded a force of 5 million men to crush the rebellion and destroy Hamburg like the Germans did 100 years ago. How ever, the city was saved by British and American reinforcements supporting and supplying the rebellion.

By 1950, Hitler's empire was falling. The rebellion had captured much of Western Germany. Finally, in 1951, Hitler was captured and executed in Hamburg. The new Democratic leader of Germany granted the independence to SGC.
